It measures 8.5x11" (21.5x28cm) and has a spiral (coil) binding that allows the book to easily fold in half and lie completely flat, while the pages of the book turn with ease.

This book is actually three books in one.

First, it's a book on chess visualization, as it contains 880 visualization exercises that range in depth from 3 to 25 ply. To use this book to practice your visualization skills, use the 880 visualization exercises the same way as in Book 1, that is, for each diagrammed position, visualize the moves given and answer the question(s) provided.

Second, it s a survey of the typical kingside sacrifices and combinations that occur on the six squares in front of Black's King (f7, g7, h7 on the 7th rank and f6, g6, and h6 on the 6th rank). To use this book as a survey of kingside attacks, read through the introductory materials, then play through or visualize the variations, annotations, and descriptions given for each exercise, just as you would with any book that focuses on the kingside attack.

Third, it's a book on pattern recognition, as it contains 1802 preparatory positions* grouped by the mating patterns and winning ideas seen in the visualization exercises contained in each chapter. To become more familiar with the various patterns applicable for each type of sacrifice and combination given, go over the preparatory positions found in each chapter, and then practice seeing these patterns in the con-text of the visualization exercises provided.

There are two free e-booklets available in the section "Sample Exercises" on the left.

* We added the preparatory positions because the average length of the visualization exercises in Book 2 are longer than those in Book 1. The preparatory positions allow you to focus on the winning ideas that occur at the end of each exercise and thus should help you visualize these winning moves even when they occur at the end of an 11-, 13-, or 15-ply variation.

Copyright (C) 2007-12, Gelvert Publishing LLC.

<!"#DDFFFF"></!>

<!DDFFFF"></!> Purchase
 Purchase E-books
 Purchase Hardcopy

CVC Newsletter
 Sign-Up Sheet

Miscellaneous
 About the Author
 How It All Began
 Contact
 Links
