1. Dan Heisman's Chess Page
This website has lots of instructive articles (see his "Novice Nook"
column in green on the left), books reviews, chess advice, links, etc.
One of his Novice Nook articles talks
about how to keep track of material during exchanges.
Dan has published two new books since December 2009:
1) The Improving Chess Thinker
2) Elements of Positional Evaluation (4th Edition)
Clicking on the titles above will take you to Amazon's purchase page.
The Improving Chess Thinker is Dan's 9th
chess book! Here's a link to a description of the book from
the Mongoose Press website and a link to
Dan's own book page where you can also purchase
his books. A table of contents for The Improving Chess Thinker
is given at the bottom of Dan's book page.
2. American Chess Coaching Company (Leopold Lacrimosa)
This website has links to chess lessons, annotated games
(including advice on how to do it), tactics, success & inspiration
(including a recommended reading list), and other items.
3. Free Downloadable Chess Games (Lars Balzer)
Contains links to millions of chess games (pgn, cbf, cbh, cbv, nic, si3, ...)
from around the internet that you can download for free
(no fees, no registration, just click and download).
4. Lots of Stuff About The Openings,
as well as other topics.
We hope to add more links later.
