Chess Visualization Course, Book 1: General Tactics The following comments were sent in to us from a USCF 1360 player. Dear Sirs, Please keep me on your mailing list for notification should you publish additional books in the series. I would like to comment briefly. Keep in mind that I am a low-ranked (but enthusiastic) adult player (currently 1361 USCF). First, I was most pleased with your fast delivery of the book! [1] But more to the point: having had some days to work with the book, I am finding it extraordinarily useful. I am working through the positions in order, taking my time with each one. I find it very helpful, even essential, to stop and get a clear mental picture after each and every ply, rather than just working through quickly to the end position. With a slower and more methodical process I am able to get through 8-ply examples (that is good for me) with a clear idea of the situation; I even find myself looking at additional moves at that point. I am sure the longer exercises will, in time, become tractable for me as well. The training technique really works, even at my lesser skill level. The key concept is to apply it with care and patience. No taking short cuts and no laziness permitted! Thank you for a very helpful work, backed by excellence in customer service. Best regards and much success to you. 1360 (US Chess Federation) [1] We generally ship within 24 hours. Click the "Next" button below to read the next review.
